Default PS Pump/Rack PLEASE HELP !!!

ok this is my problem.. my ps went out the other day I thought it would be the ps pump so I replaced it with a diff used 1 (working 1) so when I was done replacing it added fluid turn my car on turned my steering wheel left to right and Im hearing this grinding noise but my ps was working for a sec I guess the fluid was feeding in during that time and my ps stopped working there were no more fluid so I added more fluid closed the cap start the car again and it's not working but my resivour is overflowing leaking out from the cap.. I'm guessing I'm not getting any pressure from somewhere or that my ps rack is bad? is there another solution to this to see it might work? I do not feel like changing my rack and if it is the rack is there a way I can make it to turn a little easy w/o ps? I did some research something about putting a T fitting with a breather so it would make it turn a little easier.. if I try that method will it still work even tho I got a bad rack or mayb a clogged spot somewhere? someone please help!!!

i would leave the cap off, start the car, and keep turning the steering wheel lock to lock until all of the air is out to start.

year make model? You could y it off to a breather but hope its not the rack actually going out... you could also go to the gym and build up so muscle then it will be easier to move. I dont have power steering on any of my hondas and I dont notice much
