Interesting. Did your designer change the secondary splitter blade a bit? Who manufactured this wheel? Kinetic Motorsports.... Long time since I've heard that name.

Wait till you upgrade your exhaust. Its like night and day. Go with at least a 2 1/2 inch set up. I have a Magnaflow resonator and Magnaflow oval muffler on my set up. Its relatively quiet still. You are missing out on a lot of horse power.

It isn't. The GTX2860 currently does not exist. Those will be released as the GTX2863R and GTX2867R for the (GT2860RS & GT2871R billet versions). Those are scheduled for release towards the spring.

Looks like no change in aero whatsoever. Not to say its bad, but that's not even close to a GTX design. He must have made a duplicate of the original Disco potato wheel, except with a much smaller hub which (if not strong enough) could cause a fracture at the bore shaft. So use with caution and care.

Sorry if I didn't catch your joke. I read internet humor pretty badly... something I gotta work on. hehehe

I think that the newer ones will offer a better powerband to offer more torque with a bit more lbs/min flow, but not like it will go from say 40lbs/min to 55lbs/min changes. You can't always look at flow as though its some part of the Colorado river. Look at these changes as more representative of having the user the available resources to change the behaviour of their setup, outside of simply MOAR POWER!!

Darn, there is no love for the GT40R turbos... I would kill for a GTX4088R or GTX4094R at this moment right now...

That Turbo would take forever to spool on a stock b series .. IMOa gt28 is a bit small for a b18c I believe a b16a will outflow a 28. I'd use a gt3076r for a b18c/b16a. But then again Maybe it will be a good setup. BTW, if u want the most of your setup you might want a 3 inch exhaust. Why do ppl rather lose power and use a small *** exhaust in order to drown out the sound doesn't make sense. Use a big resonator and 3 inch exhaust. Boosted cars need to flow!

Having a small exhaust makes for a nice butt torque feel at lower rpms

Tony The Tiger is referring to something other than some Honda.

Also, people use 2.5" exhausts to do things other than just POWER. Think beyond drag racing, and you'll understand a bit better.

I'm workin' on it.. I'm workin' on it..

But I do know that Forced Performance has something in that regard right now. Its about $2K to purchase, and takes 3 weeks to make, but they have something like that already.

Congrats for scoring big on that block. Nice to see that people still love the sleeper look, like myself. I am running a similar setup but I have a GSR. They are fun little motors when talking about a turbo application. Who makes that black FMIC?

^ Was about to post that but you beat me to it.

Looks like it'll fill in nicely where the old GT28rs fell off. The old GT would run off the efficiency islands at high pressure ratios. Hence people swapping up to 3071's which in all reality are too "big" for the displacement.

This will let you run up into the 30psi range and still flow the air you're looking for (maybe, pending extent of head work) and not wait all day for it to spool.

Fingers crossed that the pricing will be reasonable.

Ummm no! But my car is as street car/ daily driver. We run on roads that have lots of turns too. Really my point is that even though I don't focus on numbers and that I'd really just like to have power everywhere, I'd use a 3 inch exhaust if I were doing this setup. But anyways, this will be a nice setup now that I think about it. It will make power quickly and spool hard throughout the entire powerband ...I'd love dig runs with this turbo setup! Keep us posted OP and if u can make some vids!
