Default Best Tire Size for 16" Wheel when Lowered.

So i'm getting some new 16" wheels.
I have an 02 civic. Currently slammed. rear is tucked and front is a little bit higher.

Currently have 17" wheels on there now with 205/40/17.

I was told I should get 205/50/16 or 205/45/16

Which would look good and not too goofy. I hear if the tire is smaller well my car may look funny......

Also I hear of people putting a 50 in rear and 45 in front. Pro's cons?

Pictures?

Thanks!

The car should dictate the tire size. 205/50/16's would be the best size for the car. 205/45/16's are on the small size.

The only reason someone would stagger tire sizes, would be to run either staggered wheels or run larger wider tires on the drive wheels. If you're running the same size wheel in front and rear, then there's no reason to run different tire sizes front and rear. It'll look as though you purchased the wrong tires for a pair of your wheels.

I say 205/45. It will be the same height tire that you have on the 17s, also my friend has that size with 16s on his 04 es1 and it looks good

50 is too much meat in my opinion...45 is what most use...40's are not recommended but a lot of slammed guys go w/40s...heres a pics of my 205/45/16s...

205/45-16 is the correct size for a 96-00 Civic. It is not the correct size for an 02 Civic, which is what the OP has.

In fact, 215/50-16 is closer to the stock tire diameter than 205/50-16, but those sizes are so close either could be used without issue.

Actually, the 215/50/16's are closer to the EX diameter, but not the DX/LX's.

I do have a distinct advantage in that field (I own one).
