Default F22a1 oil pressure problem

Got a pretty annoying issue with a family members car I'm fixing. It's a 92 accord with the stock f22 about 200k. Just changed the oil pump, filter, pick up screen, blew out all of the veins, and lots more.. Now to the problem, it looses oil pressure after a few minutes of driving. When first started it has around 80 psi then gradually decreases to normal. It keeps going down to zero but when it gets there I can shut the engine off for not even 15 seconds, restart and the psi goes back to normal for a few minutes. So, anybody know what this problem could be? Just sea foamed it yesterday it slowed the pressure drop a little but not much.

Is that one of the two valves on the plate the pump assembly is on?

Yea, I think so...different computer tonight so I don't have the manual infront of me. There is a plug, spring and then a valve that make all of this up.

Both valves were replaced When the pump was. They came with the plate from a spare car anyways... They looked pretty clean when I checked it over before putting it on.

I am experiencing the same exact problem right now. I have 70-80 psi at cold start up, it gradually goes down to normal, 7-10 psi at idle, goes up and down with rpm's, then it seems if I hold it at 3,000 rpm for a minute or so it starts loosing pressure and will eventually go to zero. I did another cold start up and speeded up the process by letting it warm for a minute, took it to 3000 rpm and noticed a quick drop going from 80 psi to about 40 (think this was pressure relief activating), then revving it a couple of times it slowly went down to nothing again. I am thinking it is the pressure relief, not sure , but i think this is what I am going to try and fix first. I think I can get to it by just dropping the oil pan, is this correct? Please let me know if you figure out the problem dshonda91, and I will do the same! also, I can let it idle for 20-30 min. and it holds pressure the whole time.

It's behind the timing belt. You have to remove the timing belt and also drop the oil pan because it sits in between the pan and the block on the timing belt side.

pulled the pan, and you can get to pressure relief by just dropping pan, but everything seemed fine there. checked main and conn. rod bearing tolerances, everything seems fine there too.
