92 accord EX need ICU....do any interchange?
Yes, the ICU. It's what controls door chime, rear defrost, intermittent wipers, dome light, etc. Not even Mopar would come up with a STUPID idea like that!
I dont see the logistics in Honda having a setup like that. It makes NO sense. I guess Japan is still pissed about how we ended WWII with them and bullshit setups like this is our payback.
What is wrong with a setup like that? Otherwise you have a ton of control units that can go wrong, each and every one of all of those. You have a 35+ year old "muscle" car right?

What's wrong with it? By putting everything into one unit, it's like having several control units go bad at once when they go bad(which is common from what I read). It's a poor idea..plain and simple. Then they want almost $200 or more to replace it and on top of that, they put it in a hard to get at place.
I have an '82 mustang GT, an '88 mustang GT and a '00 mustang and NEVER had an electronic issues like that. I had to replace a couple fuses over the years but never had any bullshit like this. The only poor idea Ford had was the placement of their heater cores and the work involved to replace the $20 part. I hate to know how hard it is to replace a heater core in a Honda...probably have to take the engine out.
ahahahahahah "the only poor idea ford had"
the icu is incredibly easy to replace and after working in a honda junkyard for 5 years we sold ONE of them. the fact that you have to fuss about replacing a 19 to 20 year old box with a few relays in it being a huge hassle really tells a lot...
