Default High-HP guys...engine/tranny stiffeners? searched..

I have been searching and searching to no avail...what are everyone's thoughts on the tranny-to-engine stiffeners? Anyone with high HP and drag strip passes, etc have any insight?

I have one bolt hole stripped and another not doing so good, and I really just dont want to run them. It appears that with some scattershields that they CANT be run anyways, so Im assuming plenty of high-HP cars run without them?

I havent been able to really find any input, only from one reputable source, but Id like to get everyones input before I make a decision...thanks in advance!

I believe he is talking about the L-shaped aluminum brackets that bolt between the lower section of the bell housing and the bottom side of the block. The B-series engines have 2, and the ITR has that whole sheild assembly.

not sure what your definition of high HP is...but i track 11.9's i run them both... If the OEM designed the motor around it, its likely there for a purpose wether we know what that is or not...but if for some reason you dont run them on your car I wouldnt go nuts over fixing it...

I am assume its function is to keep the "unsupported" bottom half of the tranny stable and keep from flex and whatnot. But I want some input from the high-HP guys to confirm that they really are not necessary. I just dont want to go nuts trying to get them on when I am fine without. I do find them rather annoying...lol
