weird idle problems
so i rebuilt my mini me port matched the head and intake manifold and now it doesnt want to idle right it will idle anywhere from 0-3000 rpm i cant get it to stay at a constant rpm no vacuum leaks or IM leaks ive checked everything and cant figure it out
I am currently having the same problem. I installed a edelbrock performerX intake manifold and I have really high RPMs at idle. Im in the 4000 - 5000 rpm zone. Ive been troubleshooting with my 2 buddys who helped me with the swap for 3 day now. No gasket leaks, hose leaks that im aware of. I havent been able to check yet but I read online that it could be the throttle body itself or the throttle body control valve. Umm if i have any luck ill let you know.
If it is a bouncy idle, its a vacuum leak. Some times they can very hard to find. Also clean your IACV and the FITV if your motor has one. Air in the cooling system also can cause a high idle. Drain the coolant completely, refill it, turn your car on with the radiator cap off and let the coolant "burp" to get rid of air pockets. Add more coolant if neccesary. Once it stops burping you're good. If you have brake cleaner you can spray that around the hoses to find leaks as well if you think its the hoses.
I just had my friends dad whos a mechanic look at my car and he said that it is an intake manifold gasket leak or the throttle body gasket. My car idle would bounce so i think its the gasket/vacuum leak like sammy said. Also if your saying your idle isnt bouncing try replacing the fuel injector rings & Make sure your hoses are hooked up to the correct places because if you get some of the hoses connected to the wrong inputs the car will bogg and die. I would recomend starting the car and let it idle for about a minute to see if the idle bounces, cause the idle bouncing didnt start for me till after 20 seconds.
Duh i just remembered of this. On the fuel rail there should be a really small hose "about the size of a pen" connected to the front of the intake manifold. Make sure its clamped or isnt leaking, its the fuel regulator i think. Make sure to inspect the hose and the "nipple" it goes on for cracks or openings.
i have no vacuum leaks the car runs fine i just cant get it to idle right ive adjusted it and sometimes it will idle at 1000 rpm but the rest of the time it will just die if i take my foot off the gas all the way

I have what some people call The "typical Honda idle" as it reads here the "bouncy idle" other Honda civic owners I touch base with suggest its the Oxygen sensor or EGR valve but I will check for vacuum leaks as well...hopin one of these work cause it just sounds rough
