EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW and local machine shop built the top/bottom end of my engine.
setup:
B20/vtec
Darton sleeved
Weisco 9.4:1 forged pistons. 84.5mm- according the weisco, they are made for turbo applications.
valves are stock size but are ferras (however ya spell it), omni duel valve springs, BC steel retainers.
gsr cams b16 head.
If the timing was off 1 tooth, then it would be running like ****. if the valves were touching i think it would be A LOT louder and more violent. (phone makes it louder than it really is in a closed building)
I Primed it before i started it and i also used lube. so it WAS NOT a dry fire.
oil pressure sits at a good 90psi when idle
I called the Fellas at Rcautoworks and they think it would just be a simple valve adjustment since it sounds more like ticking then knocking.
What i also read that forged pistons need some time to warm up for the piston to wall clearances and they fill the gap a bit better when warm.. that was just some quick searching...
suggestions would be nice. anything in the valve train cause this much noise?
Original setup was a different piston comp. JE 9:1 and that ran good. without any noise before the rebuild. i did not change the head with any new parts.
suggestion would be nice.

no no no. i did not install NEW lma's. they were the original ones. my bet is there just really old.
Pull the valve cover and push on the vtec lobe on the rocker lobes and see if they spring back. If no then the lma's are bad or not there..What piston to wall clearance was used? I know weisco recomends .0025 but i ran .0040 on my coated weisco's with no issues or noise like yours.
