f22 v-tec swap in 4th gen, (yes I ran a search)
I tried running a search on trying to swap out my f22a1 for a f22b1 out of a 94 or 95 accord, did not come up w/ anything. How hard would this be to do? Would I basically just have to run wires for v-tec? How about axle compatibility? What about getting a manual tranny equipped motor and bolting on my slushbox out of my 90 accord, would it work? If there is an archived topic, please post it up. I am in the market for one of these motors.
it would almost be the same as swapping in a h22 expect the mounts are probably different. Check out swaps for h22's... also....dont quote me on what i say, its just what i have come to believe....

I really would like to put in a h22, but there is just not enough money right now for it. How many problems would I have bolting my slushbox up to a motor that was a manual? Would there be any problems?
why the hell would you want to keep your slushbox?

nice joke. I can drive a stick just fine, but I just want a lower mileage engine in my car. I am looking into getting something else, but I really do not want to spend the money on a h22 yet. I was thinking about just starting over in another accord that is already a manual, maybe pick up a 5th gen and do the h22 in there. I do not want to sell my 4th gen, I just want lower miles on it. I am almost at 200k.
So if any of you want to help me out with my questions on whether or not my slushbox will bolt up and what axles to use, how to wire up v-tec and whether my tranny control unit will work for the new motor, I would appreciate it very much.

common guys help him out. I would if i had the info. I know that there are at least 4-6 people who have done this swap. Hopefully they will see your post
Where's he at when you need the help?
Anyway, I see these questions need answers:
Axle compatability
Wiring
Engine Mounts
and specifically whether the 4th gen auto tranny will bolt up to a 5th gen...
I just remembered this...if he wants to use the auto tranny, the 5th gen's ECU (5spd) won't work will it? He'll need to get a hold of an auto ECU...

im pretty sure that the swap would be a direct fit. i havent done it, but i have done the h22 into my 4th gen, and if you compare the swap guides for the 5th gen, and the 4th gen, the same modifications need to be done to the same mounts. the axles would line up, but if you were to swap to a manual tranny, which you had better if youre going to bother doing this swap (since it would be a cakewalk) you will need the axles from the swap motor's tranny (including intermediate shaft). you will also need the ecu from the swap motor, and youll need to run four wires. look up the wiring diagram in helms to find out which pins to run them to. the swap should be very simple... good luck.

doesn't look like you need a swap kit or anything like that...should be easy to do
