Icon2 Tachometer Issue

Hello,
I have a small issue that has been bothering me for well as long as i did my swap.
I bought a prelude with a H22a in it about 3 years ago about a year and a half ago i crashed (don't text and drive). Long story short i bought a 93si with a blown h23 in it put my motor with the H23 trans in it.
Now here is the problem i have no tach i did before i swapped the motor i had a tach. now everyone is gonna say it is something in the car's wiring harness but i tried to hook up a after market tach right at the blue wire at the distributor and nothing i have tired everything, looked everywhere on the internet. I even was working at a Honda dealership and no one could figure it out. the dizzy is like 2 years old so i do not want to replace it.
If anyone has any advice please input?

try getting the rpm signal from the test wire at the pass. shock tower. Its a single blue wire. That's what I used when I had my goofy aftermarket tach.

ill try im not sure if i still have the after market tach i think i may have brought it back i just wanted to see if i had a signal. i also think i might have tried it but its worth another shot i cant stand not being able to see my rpms (don't need to but it would be nice).
someone told me to test the signal with a multimeter anyone ever done this i did not pay attention enough in vo-tech to remember how to do this(to interested with the girls from cosmetology ) any help would be greatly appreciated.

mine did this too. i installed an aftermarket tach using the tach test wire located next to the underhood fuse box. if that still doesnt work check the connections inside the distributor and make sure the wires go to the right spot. diagrams can be found on google
