ok im having issues with my dizzy....i forgot all the codes but they were coming back to the ckp cyp which ever one it is but it is the little black box deep in the dizzy is there some one out there who sells JUST the little black box or do i have to spend money with the local honda dealer ($300 i dont have) unless someone has a WORKING dizzy with code TD76U for sale on the cheap side($75-100) lots of thanks Mike
are you sure the oil seal isnt leaking?...i just had to replace mine and it was giving those codes as well as misfire. when i took it all apart was soaked in oil....so i cleaned everything up and put in the new seal, no CEL now
positive the oil seal is good just the what i call cam pick up (ckp or cyp) took a **** on me
yeah... when i took mine all apart the insulation on the wires to that sensor was bad so i peeled back all the bad stuff and layered on the liquid tape
and the code has not come up again...i have read that when this sensor goes bad you have to replace the housing unit...i looked for quit some time to find a replacement part and no luck
i did find some decent dizzys for sale online used with low milage...but then again any used ones are still 15+ years old...i will probably just save for a new one and have it ready for when mine goes out

Wasn't the 96 OBDii, meaning the cyp and that are on the gears inside the timing cover.......unless you have done a swap to OBDi that I missed.

The CYP is still in the distributor. It's the TDC and CKP sensors that are mounted on the oil pump housing, behind the crank gears.
