Keyless entry AND radio doesn't work
Ok so here is a complicated problem.
I have a 97 Honda civic that i recently bought and it came with a Pioneer 2XXX receiver and sirius satellite built into it.
Everything was working flawlessly. I didnt have the subscription to sirius, so never turned it on... but the keyless entry was working fine.
I recently found one of my old pioneer 4XXX receivers and tried to install it in the car. All i did was take the stereo out and put the other one it.... I didnt change the wiring harness or anything...
Anyways, i turned it on, and it looked like it was working fine, except there was no sound coming out of it. so after a few minutes of fiddling around, i decided to take it out and see if i messed something up.
Well, i put in the older stereo and it didnt turn on at all. I also noticed that the back of the NEWER receiver was getting HOT to touch.
after a while, i just put in the newer receiver and it still hasnt turned on....
I am either thinking that a fuse is blown, which i hope it is, or wiring is off...
Also, is it really bad if a stereo is hot to touch after just a couple minutes of being on?

no wiring looks great... it was done professionally so harnesses are used when it could be used. they had to work around some of it to get to the sirius...
i figured, since the plugs were the same company, it might be fine.
also, i havent checked fuses cause it was getting dark and i didnt have anything to check for dead fuses

You might get help in the audio section on here as well.
Is the keyless OE or aftermarket? I assume aftermarket since the OE keyless is tied into the factory radio (though sometimes people hide the factory deck in the dash).

Aftermarket keyless would normally have an aftermarket key fob. That's probably the most obvious thing.
OE keyless would only come on cars with power locks and came standard on certain trims, like the EX.

just checked... and the keyless says honda... and i have an LX...
It also works like an oem keyless entry as well.... ie, when im about 5 feet from my car and no further

ok... just checked fuses... they all seem to work. Looks like i may pulled some wire off?
there was a couple of times where the stereo did shut on and off like some wire was being tugged...
i guess it will be a long week without my stereo

Stop checking fuses. It not a fuse problem. You need this harness http://metraonline.com/part/70-1720T
If you took the factory radio out that has your factory keyless entry in it. How do you expect it to work? Looking for a magical fuse is not going to help either. There is only 2 fuses that would even control it.

I don't think you read the thread at all. He said the deck was professionally installed with harnesses. Without pics you have to take his word for that. Everything was working until he swapped out the new deck for an OLD deck, both Pioneer. Why he did this I'll never fathom. Now NOTHING works. Not the new deck nor the old one nor the keyless entry. If it's not a fuse then it's shorted out somewhere. Period. You people are concentrating on the keyless "mystery" when the deck isn't working either.
I figured it would be easy to swap out the stereo, but the harness was too far in to the dash that when I pulled on it, I probably loosened some writes. I'm not worried about the keyless entry as much as I am about the radio. I will be looking at it later today to look some other clues.

If I remember you had pics posted in another thread, the harness was attached using butt crimps, most likely one of the crimps came loose when you tugged on the radio.
Check all the connections, prob a loose connector.
You should link this thread so people can see how it was hooked up:

If that is the case consider using these.

Re-usable and NEVER come loose. I've been using these for years.
