Default can't figure out how to install stock coin box thing exactly ?

car is 90 crx si, i had it broken into a while back and mainly they got the stereo and amps but also went through car and tore panel of cargo cover and other things, and they ripped the coin box out totally, probably so desperate they even wanted my little amount of change i had in there,

anyway, the coin box piece is fine, so i can use it still, and i just want to install it so i can use it again cause i don't have any place to put change and access easily, and i just need help with how that metal wire thing on back of coin box attaches to the dash ??

or just anyone who can explain the steps to install the coin box, like if there are bolts that supposed to go through and hold it to it ?, or how the metal wire coil thing on back goes exactly ? etc.. .

any details would be cool, thnx

i assume it's that velvet lined piece that looks like an ashtray? i found one in an different civic than mine, and grabbed it to see if i could use it. as i recall there were just 2 screws holding it in, i believe one on the inside top and one underneath. that or 1 on each corner accordingly. could be wrong, like i said i'm not really sure, mine doesn't have a spot for it and i don't remember any wire holding it on the dash. this is the piece that's to the left of the steering wheel and under the dash vent lever right?

yeah, your right about the one i'm talking about,

this link shows parts diagram pic of it :
----------------------------
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...STRUMENT+PANEL

it helped me understand better how it goes on after looking at that parts diagram picture, and zooming in real close around just the part showing the coin tray part, and i see theres a couple screws that go in, and the coil/spring/ metal wire thing (not sure what to call it), and i recall that if i put a screw and hold the coin tray to dash, i think it just held the rear of the tray and it is attached to the dash side but you let it go and it just falls to the open position, so i think that spring / metal wire coil thing is meant as some type of release mechanism or to make so it snaps back shut and has some resistance so it pops open also,

still kind of makes it hard to see where to attach spring coil wire thing from looking at the diagram pic, it shows it but is'nt good at showing the detail how to attach it really.

the one i got didn't have a spring...sounds like it's mounted kinda like the glovebox? can't really make the picture out, but the one i have has a spring loaded door on it, like an ashtray kinda...it's sprung into and out of place..wonder if it wouldn't be easier to go to the junk yard and find one like i'm talking about, i keep mine in the glovebox for my change lmao, but it was just a couple screws holding it on, just not really sure about how yours is mounted, i would have assumed that they were all the same, but assumptions and honda gets a headache from hell lol
