Default New to boost, creating a shopping list

First off, I have done extensive reading so I know what all is required to boost a vehicle. What I'm wanting to do is align my expectations to the amount of value I'll be getting from the parts I buy.

With that being said, I'm not going to be throwing $10,000 into my first turbo build, I just don't have that kind of money.

Looking around Ebay to try and get an idea of things (please note I am not fooled by flashy JDM 500+ HP titles), I found this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/JDM-HONDA-ACC...item336d0eb093

What's intriguing to me about this particular kit is that it has a downpipe included. From what I understand, each vehicle's downpipe is specific to that car as it routes around lines, parts etc to mate up with the exhaust system. In vehicles that had no factory turbo option, this downpipe needs to be custom fabricated correct?

Ultimately, I'm looking for opinions on this product. I'm wondering if it's worth the money, I'm not expecting it to reach the claims of adding 325 HP to my motor, which in a daily driver would be ridiculous. (F22B2, which is going to be built to better withstand being a boosted daily driver). In fact if for $1000 or so it only adds 30-40% of power claims I would be happy.

My concern is that it is a system thrown together with no-name components and cheap materials, despite the claims of the seller (gee, not everyone selling stuff on EBay is 100% honest?)

My goal for this car is to have a happy 250-300 HP boosted daily driver that I can take to the track on weekends, and with regular maintenance have it reliable.

Thanks for reading

You need to do more research.

the wastegate is junk.. Bov will prob need to be repalced at somepoint, the oil lines I would get real ones made (most leak).. To use that turbo use a .060 restictor and just know you still need a engine management and tune.

Yes down pipe might have to be changed.. be ready for some cutting and welding with that kit

@Hidenplanvew thanks, that's all I was looking for from this thread. To the jackass haters: keep on hatin'.

I'll take my time and purchase real components a few at a time until I've assembled the entire kit.
