hey honda tech, i recently put a b18b1 in my 90 si rex and wired evrything up plugged everything it its cranking and getting gas but wont start im not getting spark but the dizzy worked on the previous motor so i dont know what could be the problem plz let me know it cranks but no spark, any suggestions on good grounds i should have?

 

What OBD are you running? You can't use an OBD-1 or OBD-2 distributor with an OBD-0 ECU... the reluctor rings are different.

Check the grounds on the thermostat housing for starters...

 

im using my a new crx si harness im still running obd0 and the dizzy pluggs up to my harness so im assuming its obd0 it worked before on my other motor and i checked the grounds on the thermostat housing first thing

 

i also painted the engine bay would that have an effect on the grounding

Check and see if you are getting power to the coil.

 

from what i remember doing my b16a swap on my crx, there are some wires that are different where the dizzy and connectors meet, you'll have to look it up and make the changes, but again my swap was a b16 and not b18. i could be wrong.

 

any codes showing from the ECU?

 

yes, paint between a ground connection can interrupt ground flow

 

I had the same problem it was my dizzy even though it worked before it didnt work on my motor. Get a new working one and try worst case return it and get your money back
