Default Did I get screwed? Spoon Duckbill Content

Hello,
I just received my spoon duckbill today after waiting patiently for a week to get it. Well i wasnt so happy when i recieved it. First i noticed a pretty decent crack on the left side of it so i go to inspect it further and there are spots you can see right through the weave. Then i went to put it on for a test fit and the fitment really isnt that great. I ordered it from icb which will come to most of you as a shock because myself and im sure many of you use them quite frequently. I called today and they didnt answer and it should be 12:30 in arizona. What should i do, im not going to put them on blast because i have the upmost respect for them, but however i want my money back.

Now onto pics

First the crack

Second the spaces in the weave

Third The fitment

Now im not sure if this is true for all of them but isnt there supposed to be a blue plate in the duckbill that says spoon certified with a number?

Take a guess who I'll never order from again....

For 500 Dollars, put them on blast. Because they will fight you tooth and nail that you did the crack during installation.

How did you pay for it? If CC file a dispute.

Also, could be a fake too.

looks more like a fake, no? I'd just get into contact with them, then file a credit card dispute as well.

not calling you out at all, but ive dealt with icb motorsports/jdm land before and they are legit and good people. this would really surprise me if they were trying to shaft someone over all the sudden...

did you deal with them through their site or was it on ebay?

not to mention they typically will leave up the item they sell (just pictures and info, no price) on their site after its sold and from light skimming i haven't seen a spoon duckbill anytime recent

I never once said anything bad about icb. However I got it to fit, I dremeled out the holes and now it fits perfect. However the crack still bugs me because I paid so much for it. It could have been shipping, I'm not sure.

I've dealt with ICB plenty of times as well and they are good honest people. It doesn't look fake to me although i'm not an expert. However, when you buy carbon fiber body parts fitment is never going to be dead-on perfect. The small cracks in the wing could have happened during manufacturing or the shipping process. Either way just wait until you get a hold of them before you post threads like this. I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Why the F would you even touch a dremel to a product you plan on returning. Now they are not "obligated" to take back the thing.

I don't think it will be an issue, but for $500 I certainly wouldn't have risked it.

Ok, chill I'm not talking smack on icb. As I said when I first posted I basicly wanted sugeusstons on how I should handle the crack. I use icb frequently and dont plan on stop using them. And I didnt touch the spoiler, I dremeled the holes on the hinges on my car. (not the car.)

Hopefully you get to the bottom of this.

ICB is basicly the only place I will go to.

How you should handle the crack? Give them a call ( I know you did), leave message, email them and wait paitently. Really is all you can do for now.

Did they say anything about damages? Also, you have to understand, when you buy something that is used, you except the fact it may not be perfect.

It's a known fact that spoon carbon fiber parts tend to be of poor quality

Apparently not as well known as it should be. $500 for a name and Ebay quality. Shame.

Ehhhhh, don't worry. Once you get over the initial shock, everything will be fine. ICB will make it right. You may even have the chance to reconsider spending that much just for a brand name.
