H22 Ignition timing (Low, medium, hi) load
Hey everyone
My ignition timing on my h22 is roughly 31~ degrees at full throttle I need to play with this value some more on the dyno, as I have a Highend set of headers + 3 inch custom exaust + no cat.
The main question is I want to know how I really tune part throttle ignition timing then the flip side of that what kind of igniton timing do I run at decel or low load.
Currently right now I have around 44 degrees of timing at low load and I think I hear some knock, but I cant tell as my exhaust is so loud! I run no cat and a full 3 inch exhaust. looking at a tuned h22 with a blower on decel it looks like the ign timing is at 40 degrees.. although at decel I know the engine isnt getting any fuel until 1500rpm or whatever your tune software is set at to start fueling again.
should i really be between 40 degrees and 31 degrees "low to high load" and just stay there "pre 2k rpm" before that I can manage fiddling with things to make the car feel correct.
I'm really looking for ignition advance trends and other options...
as a side note will exhaust tone will change while tuning decel \ low load ignition timing ??? I want to know what rally cars are tuned when they decel they back fire...... I wouldnt mind trying this to be annoying for a while "all in the theory of learning tuning"
