I am looking for some better seats for my 89 civic si hatch and I found some that are in a 91 civic si. Can anyone tell me if they will work and if so what would I need to do to make them work? I know that the rails are different.

Either you can redrill the rails to make your 89 rails work on the 91 seats or you can do a seat pan swap, hope it helps

 

Can you or anyone else tell me how and how hard it is to do the pan swap

Seat pan swaps are pretty straight forward they take a good amount of time though espesially if you have never done it before. Modifying the rails would be faster but swapping pans would be cleaner in the end but who is really going to look under your seats lol

 

Do the seat pan swap, it's really not that hard. I did the opposite of you and swapped in 88 Si seats in my 91 STD and then eventually swapped the 88 Si fabric for 91 si fabric cause I like the pattern better.

 

I think I will be doing the seat pan swap I just need to find some 89 civic pans since I want to keep my factory SI seats in case I want to go back to them. Thanks for Everything
