Default Megan racing header Street legal?

"For off-road use only, not intended for use on public highways".

Do they refer to California?

I live in South Carolina. Does anybody know if they are street legal here? I have been looking but it doesn't specifies if whether they are legal or not.

If it doesn't have a carb sticker on it, it's illegal.
Doubt a cheap company like Megan would actually pay to have their stuff carb approved

well where i live in WA it's technically illegal to have any exhaust modifications at all. it's like a $300 ticket or something like that here.
the reason they say "For off-road use only, not intended for use on public highways" is so that they aren't held responsible for anything i'm sure. so they don't get people giving bad reviews saying things like "damn you megan.. you got me a $300 ticket why didn't you tell me i couldn't have this on my car legally?"

Legal and enforced are different things.

That wording means it is illegal, in the US, for use on public roads.

However, if your state doesn't enforce such, you can be illegal without any issues.

As an example, I (until recently) had a Triumph Spitfire with quite a few parts of the "for off-road use only" variety. California only enforces smog checks on cars newer than 1975, and since mine was (registered as) a 1975, there was never any enforcement of the law for my car. 100% illegal and no consequences, even in the strictest smog control state.

YMMV.
