When the motor is running it sounds like the cold air intake is sucking air. Is it suppose to make that sound? If so, does that indicate that it is working properly? Its not that loud, when the hood is closed you cant hear it standing next to the car. But when the hood is open its pretty noticable. Also, do cold air intakes ever go bad? Will I ever have to replace that filter?

 

I don't think the intake itself will go bad but the air filter will have to be replaced eventually just like the OEM air fIlter it will get dirty.

 

Normal sound!!! All aftermarket intakes I have had make this sound SRI and CAI

 

Engine sucking in air!!!? That definitely shouldnt be happening, you need a new engine.

Nothing is wrong that noise is good just clean the filter about every 6 months or 10k miles

 

It is called vacuum.
