Default Wipers wont turn off?

Whats up new to the site. Just wondering, I need to get my car inspected (97 civic ex, 5spd, 111k, coupe) My windshield wipers wont turn off when put in the "off" position. I took the fuse out as a short fix for now, trying to find out the reason maybe I have to dig through the assembly? I never knew how much of an inconvenience it would be to not be able to turn off your wipers lol. Any input will be a big help.

P.S.- Yes I tried looking through the threads and cant really find anything on the topic.

Check the switch itself?

Yea that is what I'm thinking about doing, about to take the assembly apart just need to find time with midterms coming up. Im guessing I just go through the steering column up the switch? Seems like just a couple screws to take off.

The wipers get voltage through the ignition switch, so either the ignition switch is bad or somebody rewired the wipers or both.
