Sup guys I have a 98 civic with a jdm d15b on boost and the Auto Meter boost gauge looks like its not reading the correct psi I have it set to. It's on 10 psi but it reads around 6 or 7 I believe.

Could it be a leak some where causing it not to get full boost? Or maybe its the gauge?

 

Could be one or the other. See how your vacuum is routed, check for leaks, try another gauge. Not much more can be said.

 

What do you mean by its set at 10 psi but yoru only seeing 6-7?

this could mean many things, are you looking on your datalogs or in the engine management software and confirming yoru seeing 10 psi at the manifold? if you ae running a 10 psi spring it wont be exact especially depending on elevation. Also if you have the WG port routed to the turbo and not the intake manifold the manifold wont see 10 psi

It was always set to 10 psi and it was showing up on the boost gauge, but recently it stopped reading 10. That's why I was wondering what other things would've caused this to happen other than the boost gauge not working correctly or pressure loss. But yeah ill verify if I'm still getting 10 psi..

 

if you were always getting 10 psi then you have an exhaust leak pre turbo or a boost leak somewhere or the gauge craped out

What wastegate are you running?

 

Check your vacuum line if it's a mechanical gauge. I had mine get off a little before too (but also in vacuum) and it was because my rubber connecter on the end of they nylon tube was kinked. I rigged it up a little differently now and did away with the connector, so all is good.

I'm not saying that's your issue, but it's another idea (especially if vaccum is reading off too).

 

Ok so I found out that I have an exhaust leak. I have been searching on exhaust leaks that involves not getting full boost and read that exhaust leaks after the turbo won't be causing it to get full boost, which the leak is on the down pipe. I will get it fixed this week anyway.

 

your post turbo exhaust leak has nothing to do with it.
