Cruise Control Hesitates to set
In my car 1991 Honda Accord LX 5-Speed with 169,000 miles the cruise control hasn't worked properly since I got the car last year. When I got the car cruise didn't work whatsoever, but after a little tinkering I found that no vacuum was getting to the cruise actuator, it was all bypassed to a leaky vacuum resevoir. I just blocked off the vacuum reservoir and cruise control works better then it did.
Heres my problem, When I click set on the set resume/switch the cruise light will come on but not take my pedal or keep speed, but if I let the car slow down it will set once it drops down 5MPH, then it will climb back to the speed I set it at. The only thing I could think of would be the cable length, but I adjusted that to were it should be, I also tried it a lot tighter then it should be and it didn't change anything. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.

I am having the same problem in my 93 automatic! Have for years! I don't have a solution but I will take more of a look at mine and help out.
Ok I just fixed it, I took a look at the vacuum tank and there were huge holes in it. I made my own vacuum tank and now it works perfectly. Hit set and it takes the pedal.
