Changeing Head Gasket - How Much Time?
Hello again;
Just curious because I really want to do it my self. How much time do you think changing a head gasket would take on a 95 civic dx. Could it be done in a weekend?
Thanks so much for any help

The fastest I've done it was in about 2.5 hours it's not hard just label everything and remember to torque down everything right. I always add about 2 foot pounds just because every torque wrench is a little off. Good luck
if it's your first time maybe around 3 hours. if it happens to be out of the car it's much easier. there's lots of hoses and things to disconnect to get the head off.
and like 92dxbeast said, make sure you torque the head gasket right. if you do it wrong it's bound to go bad again. also it's a good idea to get brand new head bolts. look in your manual for the torque specs. you wanna torque it slowly. also you may wanna google a DIY guide on how to do a headgasket so you kind of have a guide.
good luck!

How mechanicly inclinded are you?
Done in a weekend? Sure.
It's really not that hard to do, you just need to go slow, and take your time.
I have seen it done in less than 2 hours. (shop)
It took my buddy and I 4-5 hours to change his HG timing belt/water pump.
Then again, it wasn't our first time, we had all the tools needed and then some.
