Just trying to figure out what model engine I have in my car, as I figure it will be easier to determine where/how to find parts I want to work on.

I went to www.decodethis.com with my VIN, and it reported back that my engine is 1.6L L4 SOHC 16V. However it doesn't give the actual model. Is there a model available on the engine somewhere?

 

On the block. YOu should also have a VTEC solenoid. Google to get a picture and see if your engine has one. If it hasn't been swapped it should have.

Also, get a manual-Chilton, Haynes, Helms. It answers all these uber basic questions.

 

If you have an EX, you have the D16Y8. It is stamped on the engine block where the engine meets the transmission.
