coating coming off rotors- jrsc

just bought the supercharger and noticed it. what causes this? how many miles you think are on it if thats happening? does it affect performance?

lots of places that rebuild and port these blowers strip the coating off.

What is the teflon coating supposed to do? It seems too fragile for a race intended environment.
