Default 17x7.5 +20 wheels on an eg

just wanted to know if the +20 would be a problem. My car is not slammed, it is lowered maybe 1.5" on ground control and kyb agx. Been looking for a set of weels that are somewhat light but strong enough to take some track abuse. I found a set of wheels for a good deal but the offset is +20 and thought that I would ask before I make the deal. I know that i would have to roll the fenders but I don't want that stretched sticking out look.

any pics would be great especially of how much clearance you have to fender and bigger rotor/caliper setup.

You'll need some negative camber to fit those wheels with properly sized tires, even with the rolled fenders/quarter panels.

As stated above, that is a pretty aggressive offset if you plan on running properly sized tires. Anything above +35 or so and you will be good to run 195s or 205s.

You're more than fine to run a 195 on a 7.5" wide wheel.

Why would you want to put 17's on a car that will see the track?

If you are looking for a track wheel, 17" shouldn't be an option. They are the opposite of light (in most cases). Its takes so much more effort from your engine to spin a 17" wheel around instead of a 15 or even 16.

I feel a 16" wheel would be more appropriate if anything. Remember we drive civics and integras that are under 3000 lbs and just as its easier to make a lighter car faster, its easier to stop a lighter car as well. And having brakes that need 17" wheels is unnecessary stopping power.

Did any one see the honda tuning issue with the 4 door civic that had 17's. It was in some stockish race and it won with the 17's on. The guy said that the 17's gave better traction for some reason, but it was a couple issues ago.
