b16a on b20b bottom end...Help

I'm sure someone has done this swap before, any input is helpful considering I have read
50 different things about it.

Just wanna clear it up...I can use:

B16a
water pump
oil pump
flywheel and clutch
starter
alternator
b16 bottom pulley--->On my b20b bottom end.

Really i need to know what timing belt to use i figure b16a, but wanna triple check.

Also, I need to know what head studs to use. I have heard gsr but then again other people say b16, but i heard they are too short?
Anything will help.

your going to throw a code for it and wont feel the potential of the engine due to different air/fuel ratio.

you need a gs-r timing belt. or in other words B18C1 timing belt. use b18c1 ARP head studs, you wont regret it.

well considering I'm using all b16 parts such as
oil pump
bottom pulley
etc
etc
as listed above then i wouldn't use the b16 timing belt?

Sooo many people say different things, my guess is there is more then one correct way to perform a b20 vtec.

Also i have the b20b with b16a head studs on the way so that's what I'm using.

I will be completing my block tomorrow so input is always good for me.

my b20vtec has the stock b20 water pump, timing belt, oil pump and crank pulley. use the tbelt corresponding to the water pump. use the gsr studs or like you said "b20b with vtec head" studs. 208-4306

thanks for clearing that up man...

I been reading tons of write ups and this one is telling me to make my own PCV system??

let me know if i gotta do that or what the deal is ?

thought i could just build the bottom end and slap my head on it with the
Golden Eagle conversion kit and wax people of course with a tune.

You have to use the B18 timing belt as the deck height is taller than the B16...

Look up Bam Bam's thread on how to build a reliable B20vtec. Everything you need is in there.

B18c1 belt has already been posted. Read! B18c5 and B18c1 use the same belt.

Use the search function to find your answers. This has been covered man. A lot.

I've build like six of these, B16 belts are to short, you have to use B18C1 or B18C5, they're the same size. And if your going to do the ARP studs order the ones for the B18C1, or aka 94-01 GS-R. Use a B20 head gasket not the B16. There's also some machining you have to do to your head if you want it all to work right, didn't know if you knew that.

Of course it can be welded! After the repair it may be prone to cracking because of the nature of the block. I would weld it and not worry about it... Obviously it's going to NEED to be TIG welded. I am at a loss for words on how you over tightened it that much in the first place. Are you a diesel mechanic by chance, haha?

last sentence made me laugh!

why on earth would you over tighten it? you do the same thing with tightening the oil filter?

first bolt i have ever broken. Must have already been stress cracked or torqued to tight before.

I only took the sandwich plate off because it was leaking and after i resealed it when putting it on i went hand tight and like a quarter turn and bam **** broke right out.

Car was running strong tho.

Anyone got a bare b20 block they wanna trade ?
-b16a block (needs bearing)
-complete b18b1 block.
-hydro to cable conversion kit.
-B16a value cover.
-91 sedan shell.
-much more ask .....

well i found a machine shop that can weld aluminum finally after searching all day.
hope this **** works ?

The only reason the golden eagle sandwich plate would leak oil
is because it didn't have a good seal correct?
