6th gen accord swap
alright guys. this is my first post in this forum i normally hang out in the accord forum. i'm ready to do the h22 swap, but i have a question. do i have to get the obd2 or can i get the obd1 h22. also do i need a motor mount kit or will it bolt right in. they guys @ xtreme auto here in memphis are goin to give me a hand with the install. also would it be wise to change out the internals before i do the swap. thx in advance for all responses.

Get the OBD1 if you want to tune the car......
There is no motormount kit....
It is a combination of accord and integra mounts + you will need to weld one .
Take a look at this pictures.....
At my work computer, I have a writeup on the swap that was given to me from H-T member areyouasian. Actually he jsut emailed me the other day and told me that someone else is doinfg the swap and he will give me more pics and info about it...
Some things will have to be rewired as well......
A/C will work but powersteering will need a new hole to be drilled...... and a few parts from a prelude....
Post your email address and I will mail you the info Monfday morning when I get to work.
Good luck...
I thought I would be doing it on my 98 accord but after reading all the info out there I decided to keep it stock and buy a 92-95 civic which I just did...
Nothing compares to bolt on swaps.......
I hope you do it though

i think if you are going to build the motor in the future, itd be better to do it now since the motor is not in yet. its a lot easier to work with a motor that is out of the car then it is when it is in. also, i got a jdm h22 so i dont know how long its been sitting collect dust, or whatever floats around where the motor was stored so i went ahead and replace everything i could just to be sure that motor wont **** up on me in the future, so i recommend you change out the water pump, oil pump, all that other stuff too. i'll tell you now, THAT SHIET IS EXPENSIVE! even though i had a friend buy it for me with his discount honda gives him for being a machanic. it put a large hole in my wallet so im hoping it pays off when we get my motor running.
edit: spelling error..lol
