EX cluster into 97 civic DX

EX cluster into 97 civic DX
I have searched and came up with nothing related to my problem. I put an EX cluster into my hatch and everything works except the speedometer. The speedometer works with the DX cluster but not the ex one. I have a second EX cluster that I tried also but the same thing, no speedometer. I noticed that the EX cluster has a green plug in on it that my harness doesn't have, but I have read that these clusters are just plug and play.
Anyone have any ideas?
