Icon2 2002 accord front flex pipe noisy?

I have a 2002 honda accord 2.3 ulev vtec. My OEM flex pipe had a slight hole on top of the mesh part of the flex pipe. I decided to save money and buy an aftermarket walker flex pipe from the auto parts store. My problem is now that it is installed it sounds nothing like the original flex pipe. The aftermarket flex pipe is much louder than OEM pipe and it sounds horrible. I did notice that my aftermarket pipe had mesh weaved inside and out. The OEM honda flex pipe had mesh weave outside but inside was a straight pipe. Anyone else had this problem with aftermarket flex pipes? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

well, I'd say because the aftermarket is weaved both inside and out, unlike the OEM having mesh outside, and pipe inside.. the aftermarket is putting out more sound, since it's just mesh.. go with an OEM if you're unsatisfied with the sound.
