Well, it's working at least. You would have to have it tested for overcharging.

 

if a alternator is bad can it make my door locks go off causing it to kill my batter over time.?

 

I had some funky stuff going on with my car when my alt died a couple weeks ago...blinker would make the tach jump all over and weird stuff like that. Dunno bout your door locks...i would think its a wiring issue or something, but couldn't say for sure, but if the car is running and all your lights are as bright as they should be at idle, then your alt should be ok, that was always the sign i got when mine have gone out.

Either the battery ground or a stuck starter.


(Get some of that 0 guage wire, strip both ends touch both starter connections)

one side of the wire to the 12mm bolt..... the other side of the wire to the thin signal wire.

No, your alternator can not make your door locks do anything.
Alternator charges battery.
Door lock unlocks door.
