SO out of the blue my car started getting hard to get in almost every gear. It would want to kinda hang in gear as if I hadnt pushed in the clutch at all, even though it was on the floor. I was getting crazy random clutch chatter, the engagement point varied-sometimes an inch from the top, sometimes an inch off the floor. If you try to shift gears the least bit agressively, you had to force it into gear.

Long story short, a replaced clutch and tranny assuming both where to blame to some degree. Upon inspection of clutch disc I found the metal around the springs was broken around every spring and the springs where just flopping freely. I'm now fairly certain that the tranny is in fact fine, and the clutch was the culprit all along. Could the clutch failure cause enough of these symptoms to feel confident that I have a road worthy tranny or is their reason to suspect the tranny will stilll have issues if I try to use it still?

 

i have had the same problems before with b series and clutch was always the problem. springs in the center came out or were lose and broken. all i did was replace the clutch and pressure plate.... resureface the fly wheel and the car is still goin to day after 20000 kms on it and the transmission seems great. if you have any concerns of the transmission... put the case apart and check out the wear on stuff and look for signs of wear on parts and go from there.

 

i got a weird problem my self im in need of some help lol suggesto n rather i say lets see the other day i was drivin and everything was my cars always been hard to get in 2nd wen racin but the other day its was all good and i stop at redlight wen it turns green i go to put in frist and there was none 2nd there was none 3rd still there so ok get home at my apt im coastin down a lil incline to my parin spot in neutral park cut car off always leave it in neutral wen park unless on a hill so i go in come out to leave turn key and cars is in gear im like wtf so i go to put it in reverse ad its still tryin tryin to go forward now at this point 1st and 2nd when tryin to engage feel free empty nothin there all others when tryin to engage actually feels like its goin in gear but its not its stuck in a forward gear thats where im at now wit it i havent drop the tranny or nothin yet just doin research tryin to figure out where to start wit it so if yall can help me out here my car is a 1992 Honda Civic vx wit a true vin# matchin 2001 Acura Integra GS-RL motor and tranny and interior so far i got a stage 3 clutch, short shift, top 2 bushings are poly and rear is oem and i use the front bottom 2 mounts to and their oem umm... dk oif it will help but im always havin to re tourqe mounts and shifter bolts under shifter driver axle is new and ive never had a problem wit tranny till latley its always been a pain to ****** 2nd gear wen racin but nothin else no noise no nothin wen all this happend their was no warning or nothin 1st and 2nd just vanshed and bein stuck in gear idk but i need some suggestions thanks

 

oh yeah if u need any more infor on mods or symptoms let me know plus it started greindin wen goin in 3rd and would pop out of 3rd wen slowin down started bout 2 or 3 weeks ago

Most likely the pressure plate id replace it with a new one from Competition Clutch
