i have a 92 eg hatch that had an h23a blue top but spun a bearing the first week i had it so i swapped an f20b euro r in its place and its been a rough ride. swapping it in went smooth. i had to make an iac adapter plate which wasnt bad. then i had to solder things. i had it running like crap on a p06 that was adjusted for the h23. i got the p28 and had it tuned for the f20b and thats where the failure came in.

its been dumping fuel and fouling plugs. i changed all sensors and checked all connections. it runs crappy at low rpms with my foot to the floor for a minute before choking on fuel. i adjusted the oem regulator for the least pressure just to get it to run. i had the tuner retune for 310cc injectors because thats what ive read it has and he tuned for 290's or 270's.

before i go and point my finger at the tuner i want to make sure theres nothing i forgot. keep in mind it ran on the p06 and stopped when the p28 came in.

 

How could it not be the tune? You didn't have fuel dumping issues until the tune. What injectors are actually ON the engine? You running a wideband? What is it reading?

 

did you actualy go to a tuner or just find a basemap online ? there are lots of bad basemaps and chips out there make sure you get on from a reliable source. i hope it wasn't from e-bay .

 

im in florida so i went to that speed innovations guy from ebay because hes like 15 minutes from me. he used an h22 basemap and went from there. im not running a wideband and the injectors are the stock f20b 310cc.

 

he is a nice guy and said he WILL get the car tuned right. most of his tunes are ordered online so he has a rep to uphold.

 

just went to the tuner and he gave me a new p28 assuming the last one was faulty but i got the same results. my last thought is his "tune," that he said worked for all the other f20b's, is just way off.
