Default Question regardimg HondaTuning Magazine turbo acticle

Ater taking yet another close look at this article:

http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/t...a/viewall.html

I'm left a little uncertain. In the above article, they simply swapped out pistons onto the same ole stock rods. The Arias pistons that were put in weigh far less than the stock pistons (299 grams). Nowhere in the article was there language refering to engine balancing. Thus, how'd thay do this piston swap out without at least rebalancing the rotating assembly?

Did the new wristpins make up for the lighter Arias pistons?

assuming the arias pistons were all balanced when they were made. just swapping out the stock pistons wont throw everything else off. it would just make the whole assembly a tad bit lighter.

plus....no where does it say you MUST rebalance the whole engine assembly.....it is better to but alot of people dont and the engine runs fine.

Wow. Okay, I wasn't expecting a response like that. I was expecting a response like "Well just for the short length of time they were doing it for the magazine wouldn't hurt it, but long-term engine life would suffer." Yeah, what a surprise. A set of pistons where each piston is almost 20 grams if not a little more lighter than the stock units is actually just fine? Wow, I honestly wasn't expecting this.

Anyhow, thank you for the reply.
