Clutch problems need help!
Ok I noticed a difference in the clutch today so I bleed it because I noticed there was no fluid in master cylinder. So I bleed the system and now there is no pressure at all in the system so my question is what's wrong here? Is it the slave or master? Or even possibly the throwout bearing? It's a 93 lx 5 speed any thing will help
ok i know this is a stupid question but did you add fluid since it was empty? How did you bleed it, your supposed to pump the clutch pedal like 15 times then hold it all the way down, then open the bleeder.after a couple of times the master is usually empty, so you refill it and continue until there is no air in there.
Once air gets in the system, it takes quite a bit of time to start building pressure in the system. It ain't like Civics/Tegs where they get pressurized quick after 5 pumps and bleeding.
Ok thanks I'll try bleeding it that way I have a one man bleeder that I used for brakes so I hooked that up. Yes I added fluid. Only reason I think it's something more is because the pedal will fall strait to the floor and once it's down it stays down until you lift it back up. Maybe I should have added that before. But please let me know if it is just air or what
It sounds like air. You may have to push it down then pull it back that is normal. Just bleed until there is no air. Then you can usually pump the clutch without it sticking to the floor.
this happened to me before. check the slave and master. if its he slave it will leak fluid under your car. if its the master it will probably leak inside. i changed both and it worked fine after. no leaks then manualy pump it, pull the pedal and push it down.
honestly this problem runs across alot of ppl best thing to do instead of messing around is get it air/vac bleed most places arent gonna kill u to bleed ur clutch. with those machines u can be positive no air in system. if problem insist then slave, master which replacing both run only bout 40-50 brand new

Ok thanks everyone I'm going to replace the slave cylinder tomorrow I also will replace the master. I have done some readying and many people say you do not have to bench bleed the master and many say you do have to. So what do you guys say I do? And also what's the best technique to bleed a clutch? I've also read that just gravity bleeding works. Or to have someone push down open bleeder then close and then let off the pedal. So which way do you recommend?
thanks for the picture. That sounds like a pretty sound proof way to do it. I guess i will update you guys later on how it goes in case anyone is interested
