rpms jump to 1500 when put into gear with hard shifting
After doing some looking I'm having trouble finding similar issues. My car's rpms seem to sporadically jump up to around 1500 when either initially put into gear, or when the gas pedal is touched from idling in gear. It does not happen all the time, but it does happen alot. The problem is quickly fixed by taking the car out of gear. When done the rpms will shoot up to around 2000...then once the injectors are cut off it will drop back down to normal. My transmission also seems to be shifting more harshly. The harder I press the gas pedal the smoother it seems to be, but slips some between 1st and 2nd...and seems to have some trouble downshifting at the proper points. I have reset my ECU and checked the voltage on my TPS, which looks good. Any ideas???
Can we assume this is a 98-02 Accord......
Any work done to the car lately, any stored codes?
Check coolant, look into cleaning the IAC and TB.
As for the trans-would really like to narrow down what Accord you have.

My apologies. Ok, the car is a 92 lx. I have done waaaay too much work on it in the past year (which is how long I have had it) to list all, but the throttle body and IAC were both replaced within 8 months...the IAC new and a used throttle body assembly. This problem with the "ghost accelleration" just started a month or so ago. I removed my battery fuse for a night and the trans is acting more normal again. It still slips from 2nd to 1st and tends to upshift hard when the throttle is pressed and cruising along...it will upshift hard when the throttle is released....but it has done this for some time. The accelleration issue is kinda baffling and there are no codes at all. Pretty much the only sensors I haven't changed are the map and vss... ???
Double check the cables at the tb.
Please readjust/inspect the throttle control cable to the trans for proper adjustment....
