Default 97 integra ls w/ jdm type r swap

First off i guess ill introduce myself, Pilot is the name. I just did a 98 jdm type r swap into my 97 LS. Im running the original jdm ecu that came with the swap. I've heard that i wont be able to get my emission pass here in nc. So i was wonderin if theres any way i can get it to pass

Type R's never came in OBD1 form. He is using an OBD2 P73 most likely. OP you need to source a stock EM1 Ecu or a stock P72 that will just get you through emissions. The P73 map is too rich and the timing maps are too aggressive to pass a SMOG exam.

To be able to tune Op would have to convert to obd1 or buy an aftermarket ems. Fyi I never said ITRs came in obd1 models. It's a stock motor that doesnt even need to be tuned.

Sorry I mis-read your post. And correct an OBD1 ECU in an OBD2 chassis doesn't pass emissions even with a tune. He needs a stock OBD2 ECU that will run the motor a bit lean and more conservative just for emissions.
