Default 1999 civic cigarette lighter

I have a 1999 Honda Civic that the cigarette lighter does not work. We have gone through all the fuses, and it still does not work. Could the wires be bad, or do I have to replace the whole unit?

Did you bother to pull the trim and see if it's actually connected?

It is a simple circuit, so break it down and isolate the problem. Fuses are good? The actual cigarette lighter (the thing that pops out) could be bad. Get a test light on that socket, if there is voltage its the actual lighter. If there isn't, pop off the plastic and get a look at the power and ground.

There are cigarette lighters in the 99s? I thought those were all just power outlets? In any case, pull the trim and check the connections.

I don't know if they do or not. I figure it would be the same as any other civic, let alone car. He said the lighter won't work not the socket. It's one thing or the other, if it doesn't have the lighter then he can skip that step.

The cigarette lighter socket is different from the power outlet. The cig lighter wont work on the power outlet. The cig lighter socket on the 96-00 should come with the ashtray.

I just bought used 2000 Honda civic LX yesterday and checked that cigarette lighter port or Auxiliary Power Outlet (APO) is not working. I want to use this for plugging GPS.
1. I checked with multimeter, there’s no power in socket, wires are tightly soldered into connector behind that socket.
2. Then I tried to find out fuse (both on hood box and one below dashboard). All fuses are ok but some are missing. Don’t have idea how to fix this problem.
3. Wipers, Radio, and doom light working perfectly
Pls help me out and guide me further,

Make sure you have the key turn to number 2 or car running for it to work.
