99 civic - Accessory socket not working (not fuse)
OK so I have a problem with my accessory socket in my 99 civic. I replaced the fuse and the accessory socket powers my charger but it doesn't charge it. My chargers are fine the USB cord is fine but the accessory port doesn't want to charge my phone.
I got it to work for a second then I thought great I'll switch out the charger I was using for the other charger I want to use in the car and then it stopped charging the phone so I switched back to the other charger but no luck neither charge now. The accsory socket does work because I can see the light in the charger showing that it's getting power. Just not charging.

If the light on the charger is on but the phone will not charge you have either a bad charger or phone. Try a unit that is known to work in another car.
If you don't get steady power from the socket take off the trim piece that holds the socket assembly and check for loose or broken wires on the back.

I also tried my wife's phone with no luck.
Also on my phone when I removed the USB cord from it. It makes a sound to notify that the cords been removed. Doesn't make that sound if the USB cord isn't powered.

Re: 99 civic - Accessory socket not working (not fuse)
It is not uncommon for some ACC, ports-sockets to not make good connections, the first thing I would do is test the ACC port with a 12V test light, ground the test light to a good ground point, touch probe to center pin of ACC port, then connect test light ground to a 12V+ source and touch probe to side of ACC port.
If ACC port has both the ground and the power the problem is a connection issue. 94
