Default Replacing top spool valve gasket

I just got my new top spool valve gasket and it does not have the screen like the pic below.

I assume they are making them without the screen now, any thoughts? It is the right part number I checked.

Do you think this screen filters something that should not get into the valve?

Gasket with screen (orig style)

The valve itself:

I installed it without the filter and haven't had any issues

When you did it, any issues getting the top bolts off?

Ok, I did it today and the original for a D16Y8 does not have the screen.

The reason I posted this was just in case I had to take it back and did not want to open it, until I asked if there was a screen or no screen.

By the way it is interesting the screws were super tight from the factory and the specs only say like 7lbs torque, but I was careful to screw down gently not to crack it.

Did you have issues with it leaking after you did the snowman gasket leaking (main block gasket)

I just had the main snowman gasket done and it still leaked, used hondabond, so I did the top triangle gasket, could the leak be deceptive and the top was leaking, it was hard to tell where the oil was coming from, but was pooling in the top area where it meets the block.

Just for curiousity, anyone know how much oil you can loose with the spool valve leaking?

Will it leak more when vtec is engaged?
