Default 2000 Si Component Speaker Replacments....

Can you post some pics of the tweeter if you put it in the stock location? Also please tell me what kind of componenet set you have. Depth of mid? Did you have to cut? If you had to cut for the mid, if u got pics show em. I want pics pleaseeee lots and lots of pics..... I'm thinkin about getting the polk momo MM6's but not sure if they will fit in factory tweeter location and if the mid will fit... the mid has a depth of 3" not and the tweeters are 1"..

when i replaced my tweeters i didnt have to cut at all. if you have to cut to make youre new tweeters fit i would say you got the wrong ones(i think they only make one size) . just go with some that will fit. it will save you time and youre Si tweeter molding from being all chooped up. as for mids the same i havent yet replace my mids but im pretty sure they will fit in just find. unless youre planning to do custom set up or set a bigger set of components. i would recomend to stick with the stock size and go with a after mids and tweeters hooking up a amp will definately help. which will add highs and mids to youre sound system.

ill start off by sayin those speakers are nice, but you can also look at the alpine type r component set. i dont know about the polk momo tweeters and how they will fit. most aftermarket tweeters are usually about 1'' and will fit into the stock location on a civic w/ little mods, (i installed infinity seperates on a 97 civic today at work and they fit nice, not perfect but looked good and its the same tweeter location) now for the woofers, you are gonna have to make custom spacers so they they will clear the window when it is rolled down. and you will also have to cut out the back part of the door lining so the huge magnet will fit. dont worry you can see this from the outside you will see what im talkin about once you get the door panel off.. let me know if you have ne other questions i can help you out with..

there are a couple of different standard size tweeters, 3/4" (the most common), 1", and 1 1/4" are all frequent. i have even seen 2" tweeters in component sets. It is very har to get component set mids to fit in your stock baffle, if you do find one that will it is probably some bottom of the line cheapo set. you can just take a jig saw and cut the back of your baffle off to let the magnet slide through it, if you are worried about rain damaging your mid than you can buy foam baffles from crutchfield for like $8, but they will cut down on your bass.

i bought a set of Polk Momo 6.5 componet set for my car and i did have to cut a little bit the depth of the speakers is way to big to directly fit in. I also cut the factory cover to fit over the speakers. The Tweeter's fit as well they stick out a tiny bit more than the factory ones.

I have MB Quart PSC-213's in the ol' Si. The tweeters are 1" and will fit, but isn't flush. 3/4" would be ideal, but depends on the tweeter housing. Also, its a plus if the tweeter can be screwed in from the back because that's how the stock tweeter is attached to the pod. The drivers are 5.25" and require no alterations. The very nice MusiComp crossovers, which are very large, actually screws perfectly into 2 of the screw holes on the inside of the door.

I also helped install a set of Kicker RS6 components in a friends '00 Si. Those tweeters were 1" but had a small housing, so they fit flush. They just needed a tad bit longer screw from the hardware store to mount them. The 6.5" Kicker mids required me to cut about 1.5" from the plastic baffle befind the speaker. After that, it fit snuggly.

I may be swapping the MB's out very soon in favor of some Rainbow Contours I recently acquired, so if anybody is interested in the MB's, PM me.
