Trouble on the dyno.. What is it?
I'm running a CR-V transmission/rear-end in an AWD setup and while on the dyno the rpm's fall like the clutch is bad.. But before we go through the headache of pulling the tranny we decided to run it two-wheel drive and see what our results are. So we plug and run it as FWD only and the first pull is a somewhat similar result. We do a second run in FWD to get a consistent comparison. It falls off.., but at a different rpm level (?), and the third pull at another level. The clutch is a spring assisted CC stage 5 and has only been on the car for about 250 miles total with no hard driving or launching and plenty of downtime between driving so in theory (without pulling it) it should still be good. We're gonna have the trans out by tomorrow and start working on it, but if anyone has any ideas I'm open for them!
The question is.., what else could cause a similar malfunction to a clutch going out, but at different/variable rpm's? If it were a hydraulic piece I could understand the fluid maybe playing a factor, but its all gearing.
Any ideas guys?
