Default College DelSol Build

May 2011 I picked up a 93 Del Sol Si from a buddy of mine. Turns out had way more issues then I originally imagined. But I'm making it work.

How it looked when I bought it.

How it looks now.

Work done so far:
-ripped out useless wiring
-repaired dents
-painted
-fixed idle issue
-trans died
-replaced d16z6 with b18b
-realized hydro clutch was replaced with cable
-bought two YS1 transmissions (package deal)
-new shift linkage and bushings

Thanks for the compliments guys

working tonight so i won't have time until after to update with the pics/info about what i've already done. right now i'm looking into ls/vtec, or turbo (after building internals) in the future. In college right now (until june) so everything i've done so far has been on a tight budget. I think i've spent about 4500-5000 on it total, including purchase price of the car. stupid mounts were worth about the same as the complete engine swap.

Suspension before speed if you ask me. Good platform though. Have a soft spot for delsols (when done right). Some s2k seats would be a good upgrade too. They'd look sick in there

trading my brand new D series climax fuel rail for my buddies ram horn turbo manifold.

ideally i'd love to get a koni/gc set up. but that's too costly for right now. can only rock the sportlines for now.

Erm, I hate to ask but how did you paint this? Hood looks kinda...rattle-canned.

Anyway, how do you like the b over the d?

I actually used a compressor when i painted it. the problem was that i was on a tight schedule (borrowed friends compressor), and had to get it all done before my brothers grad (was going to let him use it for his grad car) but the trans died on the way back home. Anyway, it was super humid when i painted it, and when i was sanding it, some of it rolled up before i noticed it and got pushed back into the paint. and i only had time for one coat of clear (thats why it looks like it has stripes everywhere). after i get it running, i'm going to take it to my friends garage and paint it there, my shed sucks for painting.

i'm not sure about B over D yet. Haven't got the bloody thing moving yet still waiting on mounts from Hasport. Ordered them on Sept 8th and was told two weeks. So hopefully they come in any day now. Then i'll let u know how i like the B.

As promised, here are some of the things I went thru with the car so far:

1) Wiring
-found that the dirty del sol was wired with auto door poppers, and a radar detector, and alarm system that didn't work. so that all got ripped out

2) wheels
-acquired some Work Stark II's from a guy with brand new rubber for super cheap

3) lighting
-owner of car had some random parts lying around for it so i bought those, EDM Aux lights, JDM one piece headlights, and JDM fog lights

4) dent repair/ paint
-the car has been passed around like a dirty hooker in my town for a couple years now apparently so i've decided to bring it back to stock, then improve. sanded/bondo hail dents, primered painted

5) b18
-the D trans bit the dust, and i found a great deal for an entire b18b1 swap. so i picked it up

6) random
-alt was seized, dizzy was shot so i replaced both of them. D PS pump doesn't bolt up so i picked up a B PS pump but it still doesn't bolt up. oh well. still have to fix my clear coat.

Why didn't you stick with the Works? They looked better IMO. Nice project, can't wait to see what it turns into!

the del sol PS line from rack > pump doesn't bolt up to the pump properly.

did you happen to get a 98-01 integra pump? the hole on the pump is a different size for 98-01 (i can't remember bigger or smaller) than the 94-97.

Oh, no, I meant the Work Starks. Those are some clean looking wheels!

look better in pictures then when in person. i'll toss up a pic of them on the car. the finish on the faces is wearing off and bubbling and such. i'm planning on sandblasting them and powdercoating the faces white with polished lip.

-gsr cable trans
-EDM aux lights
-jdm one piece headlights
-jdm fog lights
-work stark IIs
-b18b1
-hasport mounts
-hasport shift linkage
-6k HID
-ram horn turbo manifold
-ractive header
-no name SRI
-new paint
-oem tails
-motegi neocrome lugs

hmmm think that's about it actually.. for work/mods done so far. yes i know i listed a turbo manifold and header, i traded for the manifold and now am in the process of collecting turbo parts.

hahahaha oh ya. that. one side the metal ledge on the fender is gone. the other side bolts up. so the side missing the ledge gets zip tied. but the bumper is off right now for putting the engine in. don't wanna mess up the paint.
