What's up guys/girls.
So i'm breaking in my setup on my stock block for like a month before I put the car away for the year and sleeve the block forged goodies blah blah blah.
I realize my wastegate is to small for low boost operation on a gt3582r. However, I have a stock map sense right now that doesn't see over 11psi or whatever it is, so boost cut is at 11. Crome pro. Gold bin.
I have a gm 3 bar map that I can put on, and I may just tune for the creep..
Tial 38mm 7psi spring..it holds steady until about 6800 and then creeps to 10-11 at 7000-7200.
No I'm not going to get a 44mm gate cause next year my 38 will work good for me on high boost.
So, my dilema is:
import faceoff is this weekend and I don't want to be hitting boost cut. So do I throw the gm 3 bar on and tune it upto as high as the creep goes?
Quick run down of setup:
jdm h22a 80k miles
sk2 pro 1 cams
crower springs/retainers
pham speed ramhorn style manifold
38mm tial
Garrett gt3582r
3" downpipe and exhaust
2.5" intercooler piping.
12x3x22ish intercooler
ssqv hks
rc 1200's
pulled 1.25 degrees timing per pound of boost
afr's are 10.8-11.0
wastegate signal is tapped into the hotside piping right after the turbo.
Thanks,
jack
ps. I hate H22 glass ringlands

Also I have a sk2 pro intake mani..
When the car was n/a last week I was revving to 8200..
I bet if I tried to do that now, it would see upwards of 15psi in fourth.

It is possible that your turbo manifold has a poor placement of the wastegate which can cause boost creep issues. Raising boost levels will not solve your boost creep issues it will get worse. either change the manifold or get a bigger wastegate.

On a higher hp setup less is more with the wastegate cause you need everything you can get.
The wastegate placement is the basically the same as most ramhorns. 90 degree 1.5" diameter pipe off the side of the collector..

i put the 3 bar map in and re-tuned it.
i ended up adding some more timing at wot and it helped calm the creep down.
it holds 8psi ish at the track pretty steady. but at night it creeps on the street to 10-11psi..
i just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesnt get too high. boost cut is at 14psi and it hasnt hit that yet.
car went 11.4 @ 121 @ 8psi

I like mild creep. Keeps the torque curve up. I was going to respond you could have just richened out the highest load column and remove the boost cut. Its hack but it can work.
