Default battery or alternator or neither???

the Battery of my accord wagon died so i pulled the battery out of my civic and put it in the accord
after a week it also died, usually this means that its the alternator but im wondering if its my wifes lack of driving

how much driving does it take to charge the battery from starting the car, she only uses it for work and she only works 1 block away, less than a mile.

so im thinking both the battery and alternator are fine but that the battery is just not getting a good enough charge sitting and being started without real driving.

any feed back would be much appreciated.

After starting a car needs to be driven for about 15-20mins to recharge the energy used for starting. Short driving distances will slowly drain/kill the battery.

Aftermarket alarms draw a lot of juice when the car sits without running.
