Anyone had any experience with the AEM kit on 97+ preludes? I'm talking about the kit that is around $500 not the 1000 dollar one. Please give me all comments negative and positive I see a lot of people have them so i figured they must be. Keep in mind i don't need the brakes for like autocrossing and drag racing i'm just looking for a good inexpesive kit that will be good for the street.

 

Its just the rotors pads etc.. no calipers right? the one around $500..

 

if you want a better bang for the $$$, you ought to do the legend caliper swap, braided stainless steel lines, axxis ultimate pads, and start using dot 4 fluid.

i think the legend rotor will fit the bolt pattern for the 5th gen, but i'm not positive on that.

 

There's an AEM brake kit on ebay going for $450 for the 5th gen...is this cheap ?? the guy claims it comes with BREMBO calipers !!

 

The AEM Big Brake Kit for the front does not come with calipers.I have an AEM Big Brake Kit for the front for sale right now.They are blue color,brand new,never used or opened with receipt.They are for the fifth gen and i can send you all the pics and ref. you want.Oh and i only want 300+shipping.The rotors are huge so you have to have atleast 17 inch wheels to fit them.Other than that they will go right on.

 

Why does the AEM brake kit cost so much if its just rotors? You can get a whole set of Brembo rotors for cheaper than $300??? .... and also the AEM brake kit i said the guy was selling on ebay for $450 was used..but apparently he is tossing in 2 brand new 4 piston calipers by brembo... check it out yourself

i'm not wild about used rotors, but the calipers are probably worth it.

 

I just noticed that the calipers were painted black ...what the purpose of that?!! how much do brembo calipers go for new?

 

i have the big brake kit on my h23 (no the calipers) and they work pretty damn good. i could tell a big difference. im sure if i got better calipers it would really kick *** beacuase the caliper is not hitting the entire rotor(to small). hope this helps.

 

I guess I sould keep my opinions to myself on this matter, but the AEM kit was made for the RICEBOY market... Get real pads/fluid/lines, and your good to go!
