Icon3 Del sol speedometer off please help.

I have a 94 del sol S edition. When i purchased it it had 14 inch wheels. I know the S models originally had 13 inch wheels. so now my speedometer is off by 5mph. For example, when the meter reads 70mph, i am actually going 65mph. Is there a way for me to calibrate the speedometer? or is it possible for me to replace the speed sensor with one from an Si or VTEC edition? I think that those models came stock with 14 inch wheels. If this is possible, how do i change the speed sensor? Any help is very appreciated.

get the same tire profile height for the 13" wheels. then u wont have this problem. i don't think u can calibrate it at all. i wouldn't worry about it since ur going 70 its only going 65 then at least your not speeding. You already have a ballpark guess.

Mine does same thing. My car is 97 Honda del sol Vtec with 14 inch wheels. I’m thinking maybe 15 inch will help but I’m not sure?

nah. i would have to go back down to 13" which im not willing to go through all that trouble. i think once i switch to a VTEC engine and switch the ECU, that it will correct seeing as the Si and VTEC models came stock with 14" wheels so it will already be calibrated for the size i have. so until then. i just gotta live with it. im in the early stages with this car. next is body and paint, then on to the engine.

All civics use the same speed sensor. It doesnt matter what the speedohealer is for as long as it is installed correctly it will get the job done. There might be something in the FAQs section on this.
