Default i was offered $4446.00 for my totalled car......

well i just talked to my insurance adjuster and he offered me $4446.00 CDN for my car in its current condition if i want it written off (this is option 1)

(option 2) if i can find a decent a body shop to charge me at least $200 less than the insurance's estimate repair cost, then they will fix it.

(option 3) i can buy the car back for about $1000 (after taxes) and they will give me $3400.83 CDN (after they deduct the price of the buy back)

so what should i do guys....

i might buy it back cuz i know someone who really wants the car and can get it fix for cheap. lets say i sell it for 1200 cdn....in total i will get around $4600 for the car....

by the way...when i bought the car, i got it for $3800cdn

Well, when I totalled my car they offered me 5900, because I had receipts and proof of all the engine work I had done. I bought the car back, but they charged me WAY less than they're charging you. If you buy the car back, they'll probably let you buy it for salvage only. Or you could turn it into a racecar. At any rate, I bought my car back, and I'm parting it out now, and hopefully I'll make a significant profit from the buyback.

i should have bought back my integra when i totalled it. they gave me roughly $17,000 back for it, and was asking $3,500 if i was to buy it back. if i had bought the car back, parting it out would have made some money for me, because the front-end was good. although the seats were messed up and the rear suspension was gone. the engine had 34,000 miles on a 1998 b18b. i guess i made a mistake for not buying it back.

so if was to buy it back then sell it to someone who will fix it...they won't be able to register it ?????????

i do have the receipt for the paint job and i'm getting the receipt for the engine and tranny so i might get close to $5000 for a stock car

How much money have you spent on the car since purchase?? If its anything less than $1045, you'll be making a profit buy taking the $4446.00 from the Insurance Company. But if you like the car that much, keep it. I guess 4.5g's is an alright down-payment though.

Im whack like this...

k well i've spent:

decent paint job-$500cdn

new alternator-$200cdn

Si motor and tranny-$550cdn

coilovers sleeves-$200cdn (but i don't got receipt)

stereo system-$900cdn (but it wasn't damage or anything and i also took it out of the car so i don't think its worth anything)

k guys i found an 88 HF from the states with a d16z6 engine swap (vtec not hooked up) with 90 Si tranny for $3500 with some minor body work. i have tried the search but nothing that i was looking for.

anyways how do i hook up the vtec? the seller is using a 4gen Si ECU.

i don't have to convert to OBD 1...do I?
