vafc guys....
i was wondering what the output voltage of the map sensor was when you run the senosr check on the vafc. itshould be the first reading. my car really idles like crap and i think the map is the problem, cuz when i add about +12% at 1000 rpm the car idles fine.(vafc lowers the map output signal)i checked the fuel pressure and thats fine. i changed the fuel filter, wires, plugs, cap, rotor and nothing changed. any ideas?
Try to remove the vafc and wire the ecu back to normal. Any addition of fuel may trip the ecu into thinking the motor is seeing boost. The voltage at idle out from the map should be @ .6-.8 volts and 2.8-2.9 volts atmospheric (motor not running and ignition ON).
did you recently install the VAFC? i had a similar situation when i completed my install only to find that i had a faulty connection between the pressure signal input and output from the ECU to the VAFC... i would suggest checking your connections.. i went back and soldered them and no longer have the problem.. ok theok thanx i think im gunna definately do that. i went down there and checked anfd found that the shop that installed it(blitz), did a **** *** job. shouldve stoped being lazy and did it myself but now i gota do it anywayz. ohh well. at idle my car has around .990-1.100 and around 2.9 at full throttle.im gunna see whuts up. also, whut car do u drive lordvtec?
Well as they say, if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself.. lol.. i did my install and after a six pack and sweating my *** off in my garage thanks to this miami heat i am happy with the way the install turned out... like i said i had a problem with my connections (pressure input and output) but once i corrected that problem the car ran like a champ.. (i have a 5th gen prelude by the way..) anyhow, i havent been to blitz, but my best friends brother works there and if there is one thing i have learned is that sometimes shops cut corners only because its not their ride.. they are just out to make a buck.. (i bet if you check your connections you will find your problem, especially if they used those vamp clamps they like to use so much..) anyhow, here are some pics of my install... (nice to see another miami member on Honda tech!!)

ya vamp clamps owned me. im gunna go out there and solder everything my damn self. btw
this is my dash. i mounted it like that(not blitz)they just rested it on the dash and didnt even mount it.but whut ever. im gunna do this **** now so thanx alot guys.
also. would a small vacumm leak cause the voltage of the map to be off a bit at idle?

ok i redid all the connections. its still the same thing. my problem is a idle problem. its not a leak becuase the idle drops not rises. it will idle fine and then drop to like 500 rpm. then go back to normal. i have checked everything. the tps, the map sensor, the coolant levels. the timming, the wiring and cant figure it out. it runs really rough at idle and wastes mad gas at idle but after about 3600 rpm the car runs normal. im getting really annoyed with this ****.....
